About Sanjan Nagar
Sanjan Nagar’s Mission
Founded in 1994, the Sanjan Nagar Public Education Trust (SNPET) was established to provide quality, enabling education for the most vulnerable children of factory workers. Sanjan Nagar — meaning “an abode of truth” — began as a small girls-only school in a rented factory building and moved to its purpose-built campus in 2002. Over the years, it has grown into a co-educational institution offering classes from pre-school to grade 10, combining academics with holistic programs in sports, self-defense, music, theatre, and value-based learning. The school actively partners with organizations such as LUMS, Seeds of Peace, SIPA, ITA, Pak Mission Society, and Sunno Kahani Meri Zubani to broaden students’ learning experiences.
Registered as a not-for-profit Trust under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, SNPET is certified by the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP-R5/2022/0026) and audited annually by Grant Thornton Anjum Rahman & Co. With 836 students today, Sanjan Nagar lives by its student-created motto — “Enabling Our Future.” Through the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP) and a 13-year educational journey through matriculation, students are encouraged to think critically, act compassionately, and grow into responsible global citizens.
As an affordable, low-cost private trust school, Sanjan Nagar ensures that education remains accessible without compromising quality. The annual cost of educating one child is approximately Rs. 60,000 (US$215); parents contribute as they can, while 20% of students receive full or partial scholarships supported by philanthropy, corporate giving, and fundraising. One of the school’s defining milestones was “Visions in Harmony” in 2004 — a fundraising event where M. F. Husain painted live to the ghazals of Farida Khanum, with poetry by Zehra Nigah and performances by Anwar Maqsood and Shoaib Hashmi — an unforgettable celebration of creativity and compassion witnessed by hundreds, including Governor Salman Taseer.
Nearly three decades later, that founding spirit endures. Every book opened, every question asked, and every dream nurtured at Sanjan Nagar carries the same promise: when one child learns, an entire community rises.

Our school employs over 75 dedicated teachers and offers education from Pre-School through Secondary levels — combining global learning frameworks with strong local values.
Year 1-5
Our Pre-School and Primary programs fall under the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP). Learning at this stage follows a transdisciplinary approach, where subjects are explored through Themes of Global Significance such as:
How the World Works

Sharing the Planet
This method encourages students to make connections across disciplines and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Year 6-10
From Grade 6 onwards, the curriculum transitions to a subject-based model. Students build foundational knowledge across key disciplines, including:
English & Urdu
Mathematics
General Science
History & Geography
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
Art, Music, and Religion
This stage prepares students for higher education and responsible citizenship through academic rigor, creativity, and values-based learning.
